There are numerous opportunities for students to explore their interests and hobbies outside of the classroom. Below are current listings of the clubs, athletic teams and extracurricular activities.

The United States Chess Federation
The Chess Club is more than just a chance for students to learn skills and strategies that will last a lifetime. The club also regularly participates in competitions. In fact, the LS K-1 team has placed 1st or 2nd in the State Tournament over the last 4 years! Currently OHS Chess have Kindergarten and 1st Grade as National Championship teams.
Mathletes
Sponsor: Michelle Mills
Mathletes is a math club for grades 4 and 5 that meets each Tuesday for an hour. Club members explore a topic or strategy in depth, using creative problem solving techniques. We also practice for contests using non-routine problems. There are five monthly contests given from November to March. This club can take a maximum of 35 members. OHS Mathlete Team performance has placed in the top 5% in the world the last two years (since the OHS Mathlete inception).
The goals of this club are to:
- Stimulate enthusiasm and love for mathematics
- Introduce important mathematical concepts
- Teach major strategies for problem solving
- Develop mathematical flexibility in solving problems
- Strengthen mathematical intuition
- Foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity
- Provide satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges
Cooking Around The World

Students will make foods from each continent and talk about the geography and a current event. Club is open to fourth and fifth graders and meets on Wednesdays afterschool.
