Engaging Minds, Building Character

Oak Hall Lower School offers an accelerated curriculum which provides a solid foundation in reading, mathematics, and language arts. The science lab program focuses on hands-on experiences and investigations, while the social studies curriculum follows a planned progression of specific knowledge in world history, American history, and geography. Students are introduced to Spanish as they progress through the grade levels. Our well-equipped computer lab provides students with instruction in the practical application of computer skills.

In addition to the challenging academic program, enrichment classes support the development of the whole child. Students enjoy classes each week in art, music, and library. Classes in physical education promote fitness and skills development and meet four days a week for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade.

An important part of our mission is the reinforcement of the same values and manners that are taught in the home. There is a school-wide emphasis on teaching manners, respect, kindness, honesty and responsibility. In addition, students are involved in grade appropriate community service projects which provide them with the opportunity to apply these principles outside the school setting.
