
ADVANCED DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & PUBLISHING PHOTOBOOKS

Learn how to get the most out of a digital camera, how to edit photos, and how to combine digital images and the latest technology into glossy, professionally printed and bound photo books. Attention will be given to the creative technical applications of digital imaging. An emphasis will be placed on managing photographic files and albums. This camp will be taught by Nina Sutherland who is an award winning photographer and visual artist. With a degree in photography from the Southeast Center for photographic studies she has owned and operated a successful photography business in Atlanta and Gainesville, Florida for over 13 years. Currently she travels nationally and internationally as a destination wedding photojournalist. Features include segments on Inside Edition and Lifetime TV. Her weddings are also published yearly in the industries top wedding magazines. Program fee is $180 plus a $30 supply feeif registered by 4/15; $195 plus a $30 supply fee if registered after 4/15.
COMPUTER CONSTRUCTION
Boys & Girls, Ages 10 & up

We all know kids know more about technology than adults...so this exciting camp just gets them much further ahead! The camp covers design and construction of a modern personal computer from the ground up. Campers will learn the design of the CPU, its integration with the motherboard and installation and configuration of memory structures and peripherals. Upon completion of the hardware, each camper will gain an understanding of the BIOS, cover POST tests, and conclude with installation of the latest Microsoft Operating System. Some network familiarization will take place. Campers must have the initiative to learn complex technical tasks. This camp will culminate with a day during which campers will be challenged with broken computers and will have to put their new-found computer problem-solving skills to work so that the computer will work again! This is a hands-on class where the campers build an actual computer to be used next school year at Oak Hall. Campers will take home all course instructional materials and computer hardware tools used in the class. Program cost is $180 plus a supply fee of $50 if registered by 4/15;$195 plus a supply fee of $50 if registering after 4/15.
COMPUTER GAME CREATION WORKSHOP

This unique workshop offers the students the opportunity to create their very own computer games! Students will be introduced to the world of computer gaming technology as they conceive, design, program and produce their own games, which will be playable on the internet! Utilizing Macromedia Flash and its programming language “Action Script,” all students will gain a working knowledge of what it takes to create an exciting and unique game of their own. Program cost is $180 if registered by 4/15; $195 if registered after 4/15.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS & TIME BASED MEDIA
Boys & Girls, Ages 10 & up

This class will introduce participants to the exciting world of computer graphics! Among the programs and equipment introduced will be Photoshop, iStopmotion, Flash and Final Cut. During this workshop, students will create digital and composite images on PC computers. Students will also be introduced to time-based production and will create and edit a short animated pixilation piece. Participants will also collaborate to produce an animation using the rotoscoping technique! Program fee is $180.00 if registered by 4/15; $195.00 if registered after 4/15.
INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS
Boys and Girls, Ages 5-9

This hands-on camp offers a first exposure to robotics for younger campers. Campers will have an opportunity to learn about different types of robots, what robots can do now, and where new the next generation of robots will take us. Throughout the week, campers will have an opportunity to build and write basic programs for different LEGO robots in small teams. The robots will be used to introduce campers to the different types of sensors robots use to interact with the world. Robot building skills will be tested in a series of mini-competitions that lead up to the main event grand finally robot championship. Register by 4/15 for $72 plus a $14 supply fee; or after 4/15 for $78 plus a $14 supply fee.
ROBOTICS CAMP

Back for another year, this exciting camp offers a hands-on experience with robotics using advanced sensors and more challenging robotic games. Campers will learn about advanced sensing methods, improve their design and programming skills while competing in a series of robot competitions. Campers will attach a camera to their robots and program it to play cat and mouse and follow the leader games. Can your robot win the grand finally robot competition?
