Jump-Start Kindergarten Camp

For fun seeking kids entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2010

Get ready for entertainment and excitement this summer! This year we have prepared all new weekly themes for fun-filled summer days that will prepare your child to start Kindergarten.

Session times are as follows:

Day Camp Hours 8:30a.m.–4:00p.m.
Extended Care Hours

7:30a.m. – 8:30a.m.
(no additional fee)

  and 4:00p.m.–6:00p.m.


There is no additional fee for morning or after care! While there is no extra charge for extended care, a late fee will apply after 6:00p.m.

Register by 4/15 at $180 per week Register after 4/15 at $195 per week.

Jump Start Kindergarteners need to bring:

• extra set of clothes in a zip-lock bag(labeled with your child’s name)
• a mat and blanket for rest time
• Lunch and Drink (either purchased or brought from home)

Each day will consist of arts & crafts, games, songs, snacks, outside play time, and rest time. There will also be a strong focus on academic activities, which include name and letter tracing, math and science activities, and games that emphasize proficiency in numbers, letters, and matching. This year we will also be going on optional field trips and enjoying fun activities which may include trips to the movies, the Santa Fe Zoo, and visits by a magician and a clown!

Session descriptions for Jump Start Kindergarten Camp

TRAVEL WEEK
(Session I: June 7 - June 11)

Pack your suitcases! We’re off on a journey around the world. We’ll visit 5 continents, sharing their custom and interests and meeting the children. We’re off, so be ready for a lot of fun.

SPORTS WEEK
(Session II: June 14 - June 18)

What’s your favorite sport? This week we will learn about different sports, play new games, and make fun projects such as macaroni shakers and team flags. Wear your favorite team gear on the special dress day this week.

WEATHER & SEASONS
(Session III: June 21 - June 25)

Get ready for a week of exploration as we learn about the weather around us and the fours seasons we experience each year! This lighting quick week will blow you away with excitement! So come out of the clouds. Don’t get snowed under, sign up for camp today!

ALL-AMERICAN WEEK
(Session IV: June 28 - July 2)

We will learn all about patriotism and America this week. Get ready to make red, white and blue projects including beaded necklaces, bracelets, flags and stars!

UNDER THE SEA WEEK
(Session V: July 5 - July 9)

This week we will learn about different sea animals and create marine creature crafts such as jellyfish, starfish and our own “Rainbow Fish” to go along with the popular children’s book. We will even go on a special scavenger hunt around campus.

CREEPY CRAWLIES WEEK
(Session VI: July 12 - July 16)

Do you like ladybugs, spiders, caterpillars, or butterflies? This week we will learn about all kinds of insects and create fun art projects featuring your favorite bugs.

ANIMAL WEEK
(Session VII: July 19 - July 23)

This week we will be discovering animals and their habitats. We will find animals at the zoo, on a farm, in the jungle, at the circus and in our own homes. Let's see what we can learn about animals.

TEDDY BEAR WEEK
(Session VIII: July 26 - July 30)

Bring in your favorite teddy bear to share with your friends! This week we will make teddy bear crafts, read books about your favorite teddy bears (like “Corduroy”), and even have a teddy bear picnic with your cuddly bears and parents!

 REGISTER and PAY FOR SUMMER CAMPS ONLINE

Jump-Start Kindergarten Campers may sign up for swim lessons!

A Certified Swim Instructor with Lifeguard and CPR/FA Certification will lead this one-hour swim class. Campers will be picked up at the Lower School and transported to a local Community Pool (subject to change). This class will focus on the basics of swimming, including floating and breathing techniques, as well as basic stroke development. Simply check the box on the registration form. (SPACE IS LIMITED.) Lessons will be held during sessions I, III, VI and VIII for an extra fee of $90.00 per week.
