“Sweet Nothings I Made Up”

Nicole Rifkin and Jason Stahl present an exhibit of striking surrealist overtones and subtle rhythmic sentiment. Rifkin’s work takes a comical and lurid view on a woman’s role within the nuclear family during the mid-twentieth century. Stahl’s work portrays the importance of traditional music within two cultures: America and Korea.

Both Stahl and Rifkin draw inspiration from the aesthetics and culture of the post WWII era to evoke a macabre, dissonant, and sometimes understated look at the past.

This exhibition is also presented in coordination with ART SLAM! An evening of explosive creativity Featuring performances by Oak Hall Fine Arts students in Drama, Music and the Visual Arts.

The Reception for both the Art exhibition and ART SLAM is in the Cofrin Art Center on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 7-9pm

The art of quilt-making holds a long and respected tradition. This exhibition examines how these two contemporary artists expand upon this tradition in unique and expressive ways.

Inside the CAC gallery

The Cofrin Arts Center consists of an art studio building with print lab, darkroom and computer graphics lab, our ceramics building and outdoor raku area, theater and the new performing arts center and gallery.
