The Teaching & Learning Center
VISION
Oak Hall’s Teaching and Learning Center is dedicated to supporting the academic success of all students at our school from Preschool – Grade 12. Our Learning Specialists work in collaboration with faculty, support staff, students, and their families to provide resources and support for every student to reach their individual potential. Using a specialized, team approach and evidence-based teaching methodologies, we seek to understand each student’s unique, underlying story and specific learning needs to optimize their achievement. The work of the Teaching and Learning Center is grounded in Oak Hall’s mission to create a welcoming, diverse, and supportive learning community empowering students to pursue their academic, artistic, and athletic passions.
GOALS OF THE TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTER:
- Reduce gaps between a student's academic performance and cognitive potential;
- Teach students strategies towards becoming independent and life-long learners;
- Function as a team to align procedures, enact PD experiences, and examine effectiveness;
- Work in collaboration with faculty, support staff, and students' families;
- Provide professional development resources and coaching support to faculty.
