Hello Oak Hall Families,
As we embark on the 51st year of Oak Hall Athletics, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year. I hope everyone is have a relaxing summer break and enjoying some time off with family. Since the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on the past year of athletics. I’ve talked with many Athletic Directors throughout the country and heard many stories of states/schools that were unable to have athletics last year. If they were able to participate, many seasons were canceled, and many schools reported a decline in athletes participating due to the pandemic. I’m very proud of our Athletic department, our parents, and especially our athletes. We had to make many adjustments to make sports possible, including limited tickets to games/events, requiring masks, not being able to sell refreshments, no bus transportation, and many other details that made this year possible. Oak Hall had over 280 athletes, Middle School through Varsity, compete this year! Thank you to all our coaches, families, and athletes for your support throughout the 2020-21 school year. Without your support and understanding of the guidelines we had to follow, we would not have been able to complete a successful and safe year.
The FHSAA has designated Monday, August 2nd as the first “official” day of fall practices. Beginning August 2nd, all Oak Hall athletes must have a COMPLETED/CLEARED Ticket to Play to participate in an Oak Hall sport. All Ticket to Play information is posted on the Oak Hall website here. The Ticket to Play process is listed on this link. Please follow each step so you do not miss anything. Below is a list of fall sports with coaches’ information and official start dates. Your athlete cannot participate until they have a completed/cleared Ticket to Play. Once you submit the Ticket to Play, it will take three to four business days to process and clear your athlete. Please do not wait until the day before your athlete’s sport starts to complete this process. ALL athletes must complete a NEW Ticket to Play every school year.
Oak Hall Athletics play an essential role in teaching young men and women to conduct themselves with integrity and honesty and to strive for excellence, persevere through adversity, and compete with pride and dignity while developing a commitment to teamwork and to the Oak Hall community. It is the goal of the Oak Hall Athletic Department to provide your student with an atmosphere of competitiveness, hard work, sportsmanship, and positivity to grow as an athlete.
Please contact Edwin McTureous (email@example.com) or Buffy McTureous (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions.
The Athletic department is in the process of revamping the Athletic page on the school’s website. We appreciate your patience during this process.
I look forward to another great year of Oak Hall Athletics and have never been prouder to be an Eagle!
Edwin W. McTureous IV
Director of Athletics
