In the developmental years of the Lower School, students are introduced to a wide range of academic opportunities in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment through structured play, hands-on exploration, and student-centered instruction. Focused on the introduction and exploration of new concepts and skills, the Lower School curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the core subjects paired daily with participation in special area classes such as art, music, language, and chess classes. Our special area classes begin at the Preschool level, allowing students to develop their unique talents. We maintain our commitment to our students’ success through:

Our outstanding faculty works collaboratively to ensure the individual needs of every child are met through a personalized experience made possible with out small class sizes and teaching assistants in every classroom. We focus on developing well-rounded children through a dynamic, hands-on curriculum that includes numerous offerings to enrich the educational experience.

Explore Oak Hall

Our Lower School campus provides an inviting, self-contained environment, safe for our younger students. Tour the 22 classrooms, state-of-the-art Faisal Media Center, and newly renovated Patti Shively Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), designed for our 3-5-year-olds. Oak Hall’s Extended Day and Enrichment programs provide a warm, caring, and stimulating environment beyond school hours. Students have the choice between monitored study groups, free choice activities, and optional enrichment activities when not participating in athletic, theater, or music practices.

Oak Hall’s Teaching and Learning Specialists are dedicated to supporting the academic success of all students at our school. They work in collaboration with faculty, support staff, students, and their families to provide resources and support for every student to reach their individual potential.

During June and July, Oak Hall’s Summer Program offers the Gainesville community five full-day camps for ages 3 through 9, encompassing six weekly morning half-day camps in the arts, athletics, enrichment, summer studies, and technology, and a series of elective camps to complement the offerings of full-day camps.
