The Eagle Promise Scholarship provides full tuition and comprehensive cost coverage, excluding transportation, to a deserving new incoming 9th-grade student for their four-year high school journey at Oak Hall School. This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need or would otherwise be unable to attend. This student must exhibit a strong commitment to fulfilling Oak Hall’s mission. This student will actively contribute to and enhance our supportive and diverse community by embodying Oak Hall’s core values of Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. As they pursue their academic, artistic, and athletic passions, they will help make Oak Hall a stronger and more vibrant learning environment. Oak Hall School welcomes applicants regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin. To protect the recipient’s privacy, all details regarding the award of this scholarship will remain strictly confidential.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY SUMMARY

  • New incoming 9th-grade applicant
    • Cannot have previously attended Oak Hall
  • Complete FACTS Grant and Aid application, providing all required supplemental documents demonstrating financial need
  • Meets all Oak Hall School Admission requirements

  • Complete Shadow Day and Interview
  • Demonstrates the potential to be an active and valuable member of Oak Hall

ONLINE APPLICATION

  • Complete the Oak Hall School online application (application fee waived with code: EAGLE2025)
  • Upload unofficial transcript (end of 7th grade and 1st semester 8th grade)
  • Upload standardized test scores (6th and 7th grades)
  • Upload discipline report (7th and 8th grades)
  • Upload applicant’s birth certificate
  • Upload current Florida Certificate of Immunization, Form DH 680 and Florida School Entry Exam, Form DH 3040
  • Upload Personal Essay: How will you contribute to Oak Hall’s mission and core values of Scholarship, Leadership, and Service? 
  • Student Evaluation Forms completed electronically by applicant’s current English and Math teachers and Principal or Counselor
  • Optional Supplemental Materials (samples of academic, artistic, creative, athletic, or leadership achievements)

  • Complete Grant & Aid Application: https://online.factsmgt.com/aid
  • Application fee waived by following the directions below:
    • The applicant should begin the application by entering their name and demographic information. After completing this step, save the application and log out. DO NOT COMPLETE THE APPLICATION YET. Contact the Director of Enrollment Management, Nancy Coleman, at ncoleman@oakhall.org to inform her that you have started the application. Once you receive confirmation that your Grant and Aid application fee has been waived, you may proceed with the application.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

  • Two non-academic letters of recommendation are required from a non-family member who can speak to your talents, character, and potential beyond the classroom. This could be from a coach, supervisor, mentor, or club leader. The letter should explain how the recommender knows the student (in what capacity) and provide insight into the student’s leadership, initiative, and personal strengths.
  • Please note there is no form for the recommender to fill out for this requirement.
  • Letters should be returned to Nancy Coleman by February 28 in a sealed, signed envelope: Oak Hall School, Attn: Nancy Coleman, 1700 SW 75th Street, Gainesville, FL 32607

OPTIONAL SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS

  • Applicants are encouraged to submit any additional materials they believe reflect their passions, talents, and unique contributions they would bring to Oak Hall. The goal is to showcase a well-rounded representation of the student’s skills, interests, and how these will enrich the Oak Hall community. This could include, but is not limited to, examples of:
    • Academic work (projects, essays, research papers)
    • Creative work (artwork, music recordings, performance videos)
    • Athletic achievements (videos, awards, team involvement)
    • Personal projects or initiatives demonstrating leadership, service, or community involvement.

SHADOW DAY BY INVITATION

  • Qualified applicants will be invited to Oak Hall School for a Shadow Day
  • Available Shadow Days are January 16, 17, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30, February 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 20, 21, 27, 28, March 3, 4, 6, and 7

INTERVIEW BY INVITATION

  • Qualified applicants will be invited to Oak Hall School for an interview on March 11, 12, or 13 in 15-minute intervals from 3:30-5:00 pm

9th Grade Eagle Promise Scholarship Timeline

  • January 11: Scholarship Info Session | 11 a.m. (Oak Hall School Campus)
  • January 15: Application Open
  • January 30: Scholarship Info Session | 12 p.m. or 7 p.m. (Zoom)
  • February 8: Scholarship Info Session | 11 a.m. (Oak Hall School Campus)
  • February 20: Scholarship Info Session | 12 p.m. or 7 p.m. (Zoom)
  • February 28: Application Deadline (incomplete applications will not be considered)
  • March 10: Finalists notified and scheduled for interview
  • March 11, 12, or 13: Finalist interviews in 15-minute intervals | 3:30-5:00 pm
  • March 25: Eagle Promise Scholarship recipient notified

NOTE: No late applications will be accepted. Additionally, Eagle Promise Scholarship applicants will be required to shadow by March 7th.

Financial Assistance

In addition to the Eagle Promise Scholarship, Oak Hall offers a need-based financial assistance program for grades K-12. The average award for qualified applicants is $7,555—significantly reducing out-of-pocket costs. Oak Hall does not accept Step Up for Students or any other state-funded scholarships.
