Strawberry DNA

All living things have DNA: the chemical instructions on how to make a living thing. It can easily be seen with the naked eye when collected from thousands of cells. We will be extracting the DNA from a strawberry and observing the results.

Origami Math Facts

Make an “Itty-Bitty Math Fact Book” out of a single sheet of paper! The secret is in the folding technique.

Future Athletes Photo Booth

Future Eagle athletes can try on a jersey from the sport of their choosing and take a picture with a current Oak Hall athlete. Participants will receive a 2×3 photo with a magnetic frame to decorate.

*Integrated Science App Creation Games

Visit our Middle School Integrated Science students to learn more about the apps they created. They will demonstrate their innovation and technological skills in a live presentation and activity.

VEX IQ Robotics: Full Volume

Experience this year’s VEX IQ Robotics challenge. Guests are encouraged to test drive and interact with the robots that our teams have built for future competition!

Go fishing and try to “catch” the correct numbers to complete number bonds, ten frames, and more!

Estimation Station

No more wild guesses! Visit the Estimation Station to have some fun making logical estimates of a variety of items.

Picasso Art

Roll a die to select and recreate a Picasso portrait using vocabulary of body parts in Spanish.

Mask Making

Design a colorful Day of the Dead paper mask using various art materials.

Soccer Dart Kick Challenge

Visit the Lower School PE coaches for some soccer kick dart fun. Teams of all ages can take aim for a high score.

Boomwhacker Music Play-Along

Create a performance with boomwhackers by following along with a sing-along style video. Similar to handbells, each student will be responsible for just one note, but together we can create a beautiful melody.

Taiko Drum Performance

Tsubasa! – Please join us for a short sampling of our Taiko drum ensemble: ‘Tsubasa!’ Oak Hall is proud to have one of the only student/faculty Taiko ensembles in the Southeast. Tsubasa! has been a featured ensemble across the State of Florida at conventions and showcases and is enjoying its 12th year of performing for our community.

“Flight” Event Ensemble – Oak Hall’s ‘party’ band. This honors group gives our students the opportunity to work at a fast pace, learning songs in just one or two rehearsals. Enjoy some exciting selections with this dynamic ensemble.

Join our students in the Global Affairs Distinguished Scholar Program as they host seminar discussions on the issues of The War in Ukraine (session 1) and Water Scarcity (session 2).

Senior Varsity Athlete Media Event

Grab a poster of Oak Hall’s Senior Athletes and see how many Senior signatures you can get from your favorite sports.

*Integrated Science Engineering Competition

Build a transport vehicle that can go the distance AND stay within budget. Teams will design, build, test, and complete a final run to see if their vehicle meets the challenge. A grand prize will be awarded during each session.

Capoeira Dancing

Join Capoeira Academy of Gainesville for an exciting presentation of Capoeira, a culturally unique Brazilian martial art. Students in the Distinguished Scholar Program Explore Hour received an introduction to the history, music, and dance-like moves of Capoeira, and the opportunity is now available to all students to try it for themselves.

Shark Tooth Hunt

Compete with your classmates to try to find the smallest shark’s tooth. This matrix out of a cave in Aurora, North Carolina yields many shark teeth that are smaller than your fingernail.

Elephant Toothpaste Demonstration

Do elephants brush their teeth? Come watch a fun and engaging science reaction that culminates in a slow, thick slime.

Battle Bots Competition

Battle Bots is a fast-paced, elimination-style combat competition. Designed and built by Robotics Club students, these robots will fight in the arena until a champion is crowned.

VEX Robotics V5 Showcase: Over Under

Enjoy a preview of the VEX V5 competition, Over/Under. Participants will learn more about the VEX V5 system and see the basic functions of the robotics platform we use. Students from the team will demonstrate some pre-programmed movements of the robot as well as driver-controlled elements to show how the robot will operate during competition.

*Global Affairs Scavenger Hunt

Join your Upper and Middle School teachers in the Global Affairs Distinguished Scholar Program and the Social Science Department for a content-specific scavenger hunt with puzzles, games, and clues. The hunt that will lead you from room to room toward a greater understanding of our world, its people, and systems. So, Eagles, come grab a “passport,” find the clues, and fly with your teachers to greater heights.

*Integrated Science Forensics of Fingerprinting

Latin Certamen Game Play

Join us for casual rounds of Trivia centered around Mythology, Roman History, and the Latin Language! There will be questions for everyone regardless of age or knowledge of the subject. We’ll also have arts and crafts projects including decorating your very own laurel wreath and writing your name in Greek!

Is this event free?

Yes! Come and enjoy this One School Event. We will have food vendors selling food and drink. You will need cash or card for those vendors.

Will there be food?
